Darrell Caldwell, professionally known by his stage name Drakeo the Ruler, is an American rapper and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Drakeo the Ruler Is also known for his unique flow, as well as his “oddly expressive, poetic word -choices “, leading the Los Angeles Times to call him ” the most original West Coast stylist in decades”.
Drakeo the Ruler died at the age of 28. He was reportedly stabbed on Saturday during a music festival that took place in Los Angeles, California.
The incident happened during a noisy and heated argument that took place backstage just before his time was due to perform on stages.
His publicist later confirmed earlier on Sunday his death to several US media. The Los Angeles police are still investigating, but no arrest has been made yet as no suspect has yet been found.
The Festival Promoter, Live Nation, later confirmed that there was a heated argument among some of the artists in the roadway backstage. At that moment it was also scheduled for 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg to also perform on stage.
After the stabbing incident, the paramedic unit was called and he was rushed to the hospital. Few moments after arriving in the hospital, the doctors confirmed him dead due to his injuries.

Other artists also took to their social media handles posting and consoling their families. In a Twitter post by Saweetie, he’s tweeted, “Man Drakeo was always a hella cool and respectful. Prayers up for his family. RIP, The Ruler”.
Drake also posted on his Instagram story, “Always picked my spirit up with your energy. RIP Drakeo”.
